Gallery Picks is an opportunity for you to post a heads up to what you have seen during the past seven days at RFF that you like.
There's no membership requirement, no criteria (except past seven days), no voting, no limit to the number of photos mentioned, and everybody mentioned is a winner.
Anybody can start the thread on a Monday.
Anybody can join in, it's a community event!
I'll start out with my picks for this past week:
robklurfield: I seldom see color from Rob, and then he comes up with a shot like this one. I like it a lot.
konicaman: Nice, I llke the shadow on the water and the faint ripples. It has a nice peaceful solitary mood about it.
ferider: Wonderful light along the wet sand, make me want to be there.
Bingley: A lot of comments on this I had to agree with everyone, I like it, wish it were mine.
zauhar: Well this is, after all a bunch of masks in a window, but it's still erie with those to real looking eyes making direct eye contact. Good one.
Kiev Ilegalac: That's a lot of lines there, great shot.
Waterman100: A nice slice of Americana, I especially like the tones in this, very well done.
Vince Lupo: The background, human element positioned against it, and their expressions add up to a great moment and any story you want to make up about it.

Semrich - Thanks for the mention.
Sorry for an off-topic post: I'd like to participate and nominate a few pictures, but I don't know how to link those images in the "My Favorites" page to a post here.
Could someone give me a pointer? Many thanks.

konicaman - my favorite this week. ghostly, mysterious and makes me miss the beach, even (and perhaps especially) the cold foggy beach. it's october here and it's 90 frickin degrees before noon. uch. i really like the non-person elements in this photo. the balls (with the head in between), the sandbars, the thing that looks like a sign, the shadow, the ripples. this is the best of a very good series.
i liked two by petronius this week, the shadows one and this, which i liked a little better. i'm very excited about seeing his color work after all the b&w.
mudride. tender, intimate, well lit, great gesture by the subject. i guess a lot of what i'm learning that i like about photos is that many of the good ones either take you to a place and time, or they make you want to be at a place and time. this one is a take-to.
gb hill. was there ever a more improbable driveway for two rolls-royces? the voyeur photographer on the left makes an interesting driveway into a wonderful photo.
tuna. for balancing a number of different planes of light at a perfect moment, and achieving an amazing sense of depth and separation.
konicaman. yes it's a big blob of textured color. i like it.
ferider. i love this part of the california coast, and this photo takes me right there. great composition - the kelp. the cypress tree. the dude with a dog. and the shoreline highlight and fog.

I especially like the concentration of the feet of the statue and the way her right heel is lifted, very good shot.

My fave of the week. Love the geometric shapes of the brightly lit areas and the stark contrast of the person's silhouette.

Absolutely love 1930's vintage autos, and apparently she can't decide which one she wants.

I did not go to the gallery daily this week, but when I did i selected the followings:
this morning, terie: I like here the softness
6th avenue line, Mlehrman: the different expressions on their faces make the photo interesting for me.
Not sure if this one fits in this week (or last) but I like it!
robklurfield, You can't shoot here, a surreal image ...
