Gallery Picks is an opportunity for you to post a heads up to what you have seen during the past seven days at RFF that you like.
There's no membership requirement, no criteria (except past seven days), no voting, no limit to the number of photos mentioned, and everybody mentioned is a winner.

Anybody can start the thread on a Monday.

Anybody can join in, it's a community event!

Maiku's whole series is worth a look - so many nice street portraits, of young and old alike. I'll just mention this one as a sample:

This has already been mentioned, but it's one of my favourites too. As Chris commented, you feel wet just looking at it.

I usually like child pictures taken at their eye level and with some eye contact, but it only takes a photo like this to show me that other views can produce really good photos. I like the story here and there's a great interaction between the main characters, the baby and the toddler bystander, as well as things going on in the background to give context. I also liked the composition with its balance of light and shade, and depth.
As with Paul's photo earlier, this is best viewed at the large size in the gallery

I like Richard's capture of the dynamic position of the rider, and the interaction with the man across the street. Nice timing. It has a timeless feel.
