Monday morning, Gallery Picks time...

Option A: Look in your Favorites folder and tell us what you liked this week, and still like today.

Option B: Look in the Gallery and filter by last 7 days and tell us what caught your eye.

Tell us something similar to: Photographer | Photo | Link, and maybe a few words.

Five pictures which particularly caught my eye....

Sitemistic - Window on the Past
An image of extraordinary purity and tactile strength -

Formal - Not a Choice
A powerful, complex image that gains more with every look -

Louiskht - 00A2
Wonderful colour and composition, with added power from what is not shown -

Marc-A - I’m Famous
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74199&cat=fav
A wonderfully evocative, compassionate portrait - and absolute proof that street photography is about far more than sneaking shots.

Theunconquered - Momiji
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=73969&cat=fav
Exquisite, Gem-like colour, with glorious painterly syle and evocative grace.

Cheers, Ian

Here my list:

Manfromh: ....
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74414&cat=fav
almost abstract, great mood and tones

Mfunnell - Sketching 1
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74413&cat=fav
A great portrait, for composition and tones (a very good conversion to b/w) with lots of character too.

Marc A - I'm famous
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74199&cat=fav
I can't find better words than the Jocko's ones

Todd Hanz - Cox ranch
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74174&cat=fav
Great contrast, details and tones

TatianaShe - ****
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74152&cat=fav
She's a great photog. (imho), even when she's not on the prowl out in the streets.

Formal - hands
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74141&cat=fav
Those hands popping' out the darkness raise more question than answers. I also like how he uses his 24mm lens

Tuna - ...
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74137&cat=fav
Florence for me it's a mix of love and hate feelings. Tuna's photos are stressing and stimulating my love feelings.

Robert Blu - Max und Moritz
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74131&cat=fav
a bitter sweet melancoholic mood makes this photo great for me.

OurManInTangiers - an english nanny
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74114&cat=fav
A nice (with an ironic hint) capture of the juxtaposition between past and future.

That's all folks,
ciao

Here are mine.

Here are mine.

An English Nanny. Our Man in Tangier. Superb B&W. Love the long shadows and the looks of the young folk.
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74346&cat=fav
Rainy Day. Marc-A. Superb translation, can see the "aura" around the person and the dog! Great.
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74413&cat=fav
mfunnell. Sketching. Excellent tones and details. Wonderful photo.

Spyderman. Wonderful composition and exposure, wonder what she's thinking.

A lot of great pictures this week, as usual.
That’s a long time I haven’t posted anything here, so I would like to participate in the thread this week. I’m glad to share with you my 5 +1*

TatianaShe – ******** :

Tatiana, I like your work for a long time, but lately you have posted first class artworks ; I’m impressed.
Great portrait, it is a portrait indeed. To paraphrase someone, art is a smoke raised with the fume of imagination …

Tuna – MOP : http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74134&cat=all&limit=last7
Composition is perfect, colours are stunning as usual, and the human presence fills the frame. Nothing to change in this one.

agi – The Bag Man’s Next Hit :
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74190&cat=all&limit=last7
What can I can say, I just love this street « shot » … bang bang !

Sitemistic – Weaver :
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74221&cat=all&limit=last7
Not easy composition for that portrait ; I really like the focus on the eyes of the weaver. Very human portrait.

mfunnell – Sketching 1 :
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74413&cat=all&limit=last7
one is sketching with his pencil, the other with his camera. Everything works here, the picture is very well balanced.

I’d like to mention louiskht, not for one picture but for his whole series. A great report. I just regret the lack of information about his work, the places and the people he pictured. Among a lot of great portraits, I would like to draw attention on those two pictures à la Salgado (although they are in colour) :

Thanks Jon for keeping this thread alive ! :)

Ian, Jon, NIco and Tony, I'm honoured by the mention. That you like my modest work is most rewarding. Thanks.

Great and many outstanding images this week. My following selection hereby doesn't include images appearing at RFF as posted on Monday 3rd.

this is of the kind of compositions very hard to do with excellent results. Congratulations Tatiana !

Well Tatiana, do you need me perhaps to carry your gear ?

Izr- hanukkah
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74437
Great composition, athmosphere, colors, clean image as usual with you

telluridestock-Nude with Motion
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74467&cat=all&size=medium
Great artistic approach to nude. Original !

Spyderman-Lubka
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74026&cat=all&size=medium
Simple and overwhelming portrait. But don't confuse me when I say "simple". Simplicity of design is of the most difficult to achieve, when it goes with great aesthetics

Shac-Ishey Angmo - dancer
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=74280&cat=all&size=medium
Well Shac, you do it again. Give us more !
Extremely professional portrait. Portrait ?, no this is much bigger stuff, with many different dephts, ranging from classical Roman aesthetics, human condition, great combination of colors, and of course an appealing character face expression

sitemistic - Man in Motion
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/pho...all&sortby=d&sorttime=14&way=asc&limit=last14
Again you play with "the rules". Go ahead you are at your best

http://www.rangefinderforum.com/pho...ll&sortby=d&sorttime=14&way=desc&limit=last14
Congratulations Roland, outstanding composition and another great hit ! You understand that almost all what you make is great, so I select on this basis among the very very best to my taste.

rail
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/pho...ll&sortby=d&sorttime=14&way=desc&limit=last14
Another of the very best for my selective taste. Dear Roland, you are great with landscapes but far more outstanding with humans.
This one, a true piece of Art

memphis- untitledhttp://www.rangefinderforum.com/pho...ll&sortby=d&sorttime=14&way=desc&limit=last14
Ho memphis, the streets seem to smile you according to your flute...
