I was out haunting tag sales today, and among the junque, a GE " Interval Timer", mfd for their "X-Ray Division" followed me home.

I looks like a square, black alarm clock, wind-up, with a setting-knob (?) through the "crystal", two hands ( one long, one short), and a Long lever on the back to wind / set the alarm mechanism.

There's a rubber stamp on the underside of the base dated " MAR 55".

I presume that this is a "count-down" clock, that can be set to count down from any interval between 15 seconds to 2 hours.

The clock part seems to run fine, and keep time, the alarm gong works too.

The only thing that seems to be amiss is the "set" knob / stem that comes through the face of the dial & crystal: it seems to be seized - I can't get it to turn, nor adjust the setting of the hands.

Before I go further into it, I wanted to see if anyone here has / had experience with these timers, and could confirm the proceedure for setting the interval one wants the count-down to start from ?

The brass guts are all shiny, and the clock-work ticks "strong", but I did observe some "flash rust" on steel parts, which makes me suspect the setting mechanism is seized....

Thanks for your help ...
