I called the maker of Genuine Fractals yesterday in Portland, Oregon, USA to ask if their 4.1 release runs on Photoshop Elements. "Yes, that'll be $159.95 please."

Well that doesn't make any sense. How about a lower function, lower price offering for the Elements 3.0 and 4.0 crowd, I queried. "It's under consideration." was the reply.

Hmmm...

So, If you're moved to do something about it, call 'em and cast your vote!

Ahem, GF is a waste of money. Here I go on another rant... ah, well.

A long time ago when GF came out I had a job that required the the outlandish ($500.00 or so) price be paid. It was priced into the job and then used per the 'master plan' to make silk purses out of some Kodak digital sows ears of files.

To make a long story short... it was a waste of time... and money. To give GF its due, if you were starting with a 16 bit MF drum scan of about 500MB and needed uprezzing to Really Big Files, then it worked.

Go find Qimage Pro for a third the price and be happy. Or just use bicubic smoother in PS and save even that small outlay.

Hi, G, if you want to explore fractal images and make fractal finearts I suggest you get a copy of UltraFractals. It is a professional fractal image maker with some advanced image processing tool itself. I have played with UF years ago, it is a very nice software.

Oops, sorry for wrong concept. :bang:
