My autistic glitch creates all kinds of weird behaviours , one of which is the grounding of having a camera close and using said camera to frame and focus an out of phase world .

I know that my abilities are way below most cameras around , I make no secret of being a considered snap shooter , but a camera is much more than just a tool to capture light .
I tend to stick to a well learned from film ISO 200 so that I can judge the ambiance , either programme or shutter priority from my Minolta SRT days [ the most tangible film camera other than my much appreciate Contax /Kiev hybrids .
I also like close to 40mm-120 max in 35mm terms .

10 years ago , an inheritance allowed the acquisition of a Leica M8 as the closest thing to analogue and a year old Leica Digilux 3 which someone must have quickly traded in for a more conventional camera !

It simply felt tangible / real to me which is a BIG DEAL , so I added a Panasonic L1 body and , when 4/3rds died , a pair of inexpensive and lighter Olympus zooms .

I never expected to find another camera - or three - to rival my Dig 3/L1 twins , especially as funds are no where near as fluid as a decade [deaf aid ? ] ago .

But I did find a new Fujifilm X-Pro1 plus 27mm at an affordable £318 which accompanied the L1 to Malaysia .
What is great is the slick exposure compensation , so that I can vary the ambiance so easily - plus that neat OVF

More recently I added £200 X-M1 for that useful and excellent 16-50 , finding it an ideal everyday notebook .

Finally rounding off with a rather more expensive £427 new X-T1 / 18-55.
I like the pseudo SLR styling and central EVF , it also feels comfortable with either small zoom .
It seems disrespectful that excellent camera prices should collapse so drastically within less then 3 years of my ex-dem searching - not that I am complaining !

For me , that they all share similar menus and IQ is great - my learning curve being drastically reduced , but , most importantly , the X-Pro1 and X-T1 have that aura of quality and create confidence . Even that compact X-M1 is pretty solid with the useful flip screen.

This is a major change to the adoption of the EVF , after a rather reluctant experience with a Sony A35 to utilise my Minolta 35-80 [ mostly just that one !! LOL ].

All of the Fujis are just perfect for me , even though circumstances have curtailed my snap shooting , so it may seem a waste of a good camera , they are there when I need them .
There is dee'lemma here - photographically , my Pentax K-S1 with it's crystal clear screen unaffected by sunshine , with a 35mm is all I need , but the quietude I gain from that around £1000 additional outlay is immeasurable .

There it is - and it JUST IS - too old to deny or worry about the reasons .

This is not to say that I won't be trawling for a new X-Pro2 and or X-T2 in 5 or so years time - after all you can't get enough of a GOOD THING !

Regards
