At least FD stuff is inexpensive these days.
Sounds fun, even if you are getting out of hand...

Tell me about it. Over the past few weeks I picked up an original Leicaflex and a Nikon F2. I don't really need either camera. But, they were there at the right price, so I bought.

What generation will you pick up? The rule is this: Chrome mount = better build quality, new FD = better optical quality.
Also, dont miss out on the early FL series for your F1.

Could be either mount. Canon introduced the breechlock internal focus version in 1977, the bayonet version in 1979.

I wouldn't get an SLR manual focus lens slower than f4.5, Joe, focusing becomes very difficult for me f5.6 and up.
Enjoy though, of course.

oh i know...already having trouble focussing the 100/2.8...i'm thinking the 300 will be monopod/tripod only.
plus the price would not allow me to pass on it.

I found the FD 35mm and 135mm to both be excellent lenses, Joe. I wound up with a bunch of FL, FD, and FDn gear after getting sidelined from my Nikon quests. Love the lenses, can't say I care for the cameras as much. Amazingly, the T70 was the one I felt like could be a daily user, even in all its plastic ugliness.
