My wife and I did our early Christmas gift exchange yesterday and Santa didn't bring me any rangefinder-related gifts this year (but he did bring a Nikon digital for my wife 🙂 ).

Did Santa (or Father Christmas) bring you anything nice for your RF collection this season? If so, please share your story with the group.

And finally, to all people everywhere in this world - may you find peace and happiness during this holiday season and good health and good light in the coming year.

Not yet, but I'm expecting some $$$ to send me on my way. I don't think anyone would dare trying to find me camera equipment!

Thanks to Santa hoot and Sweetness, the little elf I'm married to, I'll be getting a late Christmas gift from Vienna... hoot's 1937 vintage 90/4 Elmar black LTM. I've decided to leave the Christmas Tree up until it arrives. Hey, Christmas ain't over til I've got some RF stuff under the tree... period!! 😛

Hey, Santa Hoot is sending a 35/3.5 Summaron over to me! (Christmas gift to myself 😀 )

We haven't exchanged any gifts at our house yet, but I know exactly what I am going to receive. None of it is specifically RF related, but it is all photo related. Thanks to my wonderful parents I'm getting an Epson R2400 printer. My grandparents are getting me a Minolta Dual Scan IV, and my Uncle got me a Sekonic L308S. I'll also get a bunch of film and stuff as stocking stuffers.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Indirectly.

A good friend of ours gave me a Nikon D70s kit. (I've just now put my jaw back in it's proper place. It feel completely THROUGH the floor after I opened the gift.) It came with a kit 18-70mm f/3.5-4 Nikkor G lens. Not bad, but not as good as the 24-70 f/2.8 Sigma D lens that I already had. So, I traded the Nikkor for a Leitz Elmar at the local camera store. It now resides on my Leica IIF. 🙂

A funny thing happened when I went window shopping at lunch time today. A very nice 90mm Elmar c appeared in a show case with a very reasonable price tag. Figuring the c really stands for Christmas, it just had to go home with me.

i'm not a grinch but i don't normally celebrate christmas either.

i do, however, buy myself gifts...this year the 35/3.5 and the 135/3.5 lenses are the biggest gifts in santa's sack. (tho the 135 is still 'out there ' somewhere)

i do the 'secret santa' thing at work and we exchanged gifts today.
i got a couple of leather bound photo albums, a frame and photo box. also a beautiful wooden photo box.

i wish you all the best for christmas!
