Good news from Fujifilm!

If it's not too expensive, it could be fun to print Instax images off the phone. I do wish they'd have done a wide model too. Maybe in time.

Hmm, some decent choice in 5x4 instant film (and good new holders) would be nice. If viable, it could work out (relatively) inexpensive compared to getting colour film processed commercially.

(Pipe dreaming...)

the light trail REPRINT option certainly sounds unique!
Main Features:
(1) Easy and quick wireless smartphone photo printing via the proprietary app
(2) Easy creation of copies with the REPRINT button
The shutter remains open while the shutter button is depressed (10 seconds at longest), and a light trail can be photographed

From fujifilm's press release on on the printer (my emphasis):

"Fujifilm's instax mini instant cameras, which output photos in the traditional analog style, are becoming popular among teenage girls and women in their early 20s in many countries."

The bolded portion made me laugh a little... but it's interesting what the market is for Instax cameras. And they are popular-- I don't know about where you live but around here they're not rare (not common either though) and in Singapore they sold them at the local photo-print shops. Pretty awesome. I'm happy that Fuji's making instant film and profiting too (not sure the same can really be said about fp-100c...).

And maybe when they inevitably stop producing FP-100c, they'll have made a good manual camera that works with Instax film. Otherwise, it would make a nice engineering challenge for me...

We are not short of cameras at home. But one of our daughters wants exactly this.

Let her go for it! Instant photography is fun.
Real prints > instagram anyday.

And besides, you don't want your kids take up printing. I denied my parents of their bathroom for a week over the break. They weren't so pleased.

This looks like a wireless version of the existing
Fuji Pivi mobile printer MP300

Which uses Instax style film

Fuji also released the mini 90 (I may have the number wrong) recently. I hope they release a similarly high-end version of the 210 soon (another 500AF?). Instant film is fantastic, and I would use even more with a more versatile camera.

Instax quality is visibly better than Polaroid's Zink / PoGo efforts.
This will be fun in parties and events.
Good for Fuji.
