Good reference for lens service in US

I have two lenses that I would like to get serviced. One is a xenogon with nice glass. It ony has minor internal haze. If I get the haze removed, this will be a great lens. Another is a rokkor, also with clean glass with some internal haze.

Does anyone know of a very reliable source to get them cleaned? Also, what do you think would be the cost of such cleaning and the turnaround time?

Very reliable? Don Goldberg of www.dagcamera.com. Turnaround time is 8 weeks give or take and cost varies. I currently have three lenses with him and I expect a bill of $300+ maybe.

I always use Essex Camera Service, Carlstadt NJ. They have a website, and you can call them to ask for a price quote and turnaround time. A lens cleaning/service runs me about $75, and the turnaround time has been from 2 days to 1 week. I live nearby and just walk the lens in to them, no shipping involved.

I just had two lenses CLA'd here in Houston. Time: 1 was under a week and the 2nd was just over a week. Total: under $100.

Ask Sherry Krauter (on the web) what her prices and turn around schedule is. She is most reliable.

I too have three lenses in with DAG. One is a 40 being trimmed to bring up the 35mm frame lines on my M6 and two old LTM (Komura) lenses. Don is THE MAN!!! I would highly recomend him.
