Hey,

sorry if these questions are annoying and stupid, but I cant find a a manual for this camera on the net, and I'm curious how to use this camera.

It's a Yashica Half 17 Rapid EE.

some info here http://corsopolaris.net/supercameras/half/halformat5s.html

Anyway its got a selenium light meter around the lens, which Im sure is busted (nothing moves in the rangefinder etc). Which is fine as I'll use my DSLR as a light meter or whatever.

ANYWAY, the only adjustments I can make are the the focus ring and the aperture ring.

I'm just wondering now

So I just set the aperture (which sets the shutter speed) to whatever, and fire away? Or being as I cant switch it between auto and manual, will it be locked to some speed and only the aperture will change? I only say this because I've opened it up and taken the cartridges out and I cant discern a difference in speed between the 1.7 and the 16.
well I mean I THINK the 16 is going at 800th, and the 1.7 at 30th, but I cant be positive.

Any thoughts?

also one other thing, if you look at the image in that link and find the half 17 rapid. Whats that little lever next to the lens do?

Cheers
