Got some new gear coming

Pulled the trigger and ordered my second M body. A chrome MP. I absolutely love my M7, but really wanted an all mechanical M also. With the current promotion offering a $500 coupon towards my next purchase, I had to pull the trigger before 12/31. I also ordered a 90mm 2.8 elmarit, chrome. This will get me the free 6bit upgrade coupon to use on my 50mm summicron.

Will most likely use the $500 coupon towards a 35mm summicron in a month or so.

Thanks for all the great reading so far. This has been a most educational experience.

p.s. I WILL get an M8 eventually. But I want to wait for the first few rounds of bugs to get shaken out.

Ah, I do not feel so bad now: just pulled the trigger on a new 4th version pre-aspheric 35 Summicron, with box,cards, caps, filter, and rectangular shade. Pricey but a gem and rare and special. Sigh, a big GAS attack. You'll love that MP-I have a chrome one as well. Beautiful precision.

I thought that Leica M 90mm 2.8 elmarit is no longer available in chrome.

B&H lists it in stock. They even called today to verify my order. Chrome, $200 cheaper than black, and 6 bit coding already.

We'll see if I get it.😉

I fancied getting a black MP but after speaking to a dealer I will probably buy a silver one.

The black cameras can loose a lot of money if the paint wears off.

Any cameras I buy are for good but I like to talk to dealers about tradein prices anyway.

Well, it looks like there are at least a few of these still available. I just received my chrome 90mm 2.8 from B&H today, complete with 6 bit coding. It was 200 cheaper than the black version as well.

The new MP is well, you guys know. 😀 Going to go shoot it tomorrow.
