Finally managed to finish a simple CLA on a Vitomatic II so I decided to get everyone together for a pic. The family includes:

Vito B (small viewfinder) Color-Skopar 50mm f.3.5
Vito BL (crystal viewfinder, BEWI meter) Color-Skopar 50mm f.2.8
Vito BR (Color-Skopar 50mm f 2.8)
Vitomatic II (Color-Skopar 50mm f.2.8)
Vito IIa (Color-Skopar 50mm f. 3.5)
Vitessa "C" (Ultron 50mm f. 2)

Flanked by a Bessa L with Snapshot Skopar 24mm and finder and a Bessa R with (right now) a Jupiter 3 50mm f. 1.5

On the lookout for a decent Vito III

Thanks!

Kudos on cleaning up the Vitomatic IIa - it's a real sleeper with regards to sought after fixed-lens 35mm rangefinder cameras.

In a nutshell, the Voigtlanders circa 1951 to 1963 were over built for the job. Your Vito BR is one of several variants based on the Vito B body. It is now over 60 years old and of a design that has aged well. It's a clean package that still looks good.

The Vitomatic IIa is a better value of the two.

Thanks all for the nice comments. My favorite is probably the Vitessa. Quirky and wonderful with that amazing Ultron. I was fortunate to find an early "C" model before the inclusion of the danged EV system. I'm thinking about a Vitessa "T" in the future mostly because of the fixed lens varient. I'm taking delivery of a Vito III today. Can't wait. I'll post pics when I can.
