I've been getting some focus issues with my GR1v at middle distances (around 1-2m) where the camera focuses on the background instead of the subject. The odd thing is when I am taking the photo the camera seems to indicate the correct distance, yet the shots are completely off. This is the most noticeable with portraits where the subject will be blurred and the background sharp. At other distances (macro, infinity) the focus seems fine.
What could be causing this? My viewfinder/autofocus window is quite dusty, but since the camera shows the correct focus, I don't know if that could be the problem.
Also, what's the best way to get the camera checked out for someone in Vancouver Canada? I would prefer if I could send it into Ricoh..
