This is the grain elevator that I saw from the highway when I stopped at a gas station on US-30 while driving home from Chicago last month. It made me seek out the small town nearby, where I made several photographs that I have already shown here. The town was called Hamlet!

Love your work Chris. I went to school at Purdue, but had little time for photo work.

Chris, this is nice work. I like your straight-on black and white pictures of small-town Indiana.

Have two more from Hamlet, which I have scanned but not edited. Coming soon! Tonight I went to another carnival to photograph. Lots of new stuff coming.

I love seeing these grain elevators Chris. I'm planing on a trip to Hamlet, just not in Indiana. Hamlet NC has a rich railroad history with a museum & a hub for CSX. I married a carney so I always love seeing carnival photos.

Chris, I have enjoyed your pics of rural Indiana as well. I live in a rural community as well (pop. 5,000) and you have inspired me to go out and take a lot of photos. It is easy to overlook those things we see everyday. We have some small, quaint little communities that quite frankly will probably not survive many more years. Drought and a tough economy are taking its toll. I have begun the process of documenting them just for myself if no one else. Keep the pics coming.
