I have some great news to share with others. I just found out that two of my images in our group's exhibit have sold!!

Perhaps for someone else this would be no big deal. However, these are the very first images I've ever sold in my entire life and I am thrilled beyond belief.

A bit of background:

I am in a group of women photographers who go out shooting a lot. Our very first group exhibit is now up at Beaverton City Hall, which is a suburb of Portland, Oregon. It will be open, by the way, through the end of February. If anyone is in or near the Portland, OR area would like to see the exhibit of our work, they are welcome to see it between 8 and 5 weekdays.

A bit about the images sold:

Both are 16 x 20 images. One is a digital image and is a sunset image shot on the Oregon Coast. The other is a film image (Velvia 50) shot with my FM2N. It is a waterfall image taken at Silver Falls State Park near Salem, OR.

I was so exited upon hearing the news this evening that I wanted to share it with everyone!

Ellen

Congratulations. I would one day like to follow in your footsteps.

Think positive thoughts and one day it will happen!

I never in a bazillion years ever thought that anyone would've paid money for an image I've shot. And I especially didn't think it would happen after reading Chris Crawford's recent post about how bad the economy is right now and how artwork is just not selling.

Keep working toward your goals and one day you WILL follow in my footsteps!

Congratulations Ellen. Although I only ever sell the odd print online every couple of months or so, it never gets old, and I still recall the feeling, the first time someone bought one. Well done!
Best,
Brett
