Great Robert Frank Article - how he changed America

Indeed! A well written article.

Robert Frank spoke at the Cantor Museum (Stanford University) a couple of years ago. I believe he'd just turned 90. It was a fascinating talk by the man who's photo book turned my head way, way back in 1968 when I was a freshman in high school...

A friend and I went to his show at SFMOMA a few years back. They had some of his negatives and contact sheets. 767 rolls of film: yikes ($4441.00 today).

I don't know about changing America though.

Thanks for the heads up. What a great article. I knew the book was not a great success at first but didn't know how much venom was directed toward it, by people who should have known better. Truth hurts I guess.

As far as I know the book was designed and edited by Robert Delpire, who also produced some books by Cartier-Bresson. Delpire must have been very young at that time. (1958)

Erik.
