GSW690 II - film loading

I've just acquired a s/h GSW 690 - alas without a user manual. Most of the controls seem straightforward, but I'm unsure as to how where the indicator arrow/ mark on the film backing paper should be aligned. There appears to be a small red dot on the film guide near to the take up spool - would I be right in thinking that this is the alignment point?
