Hi Folks,
Is anyone out there using a half case? And if so, which one?
There's an abundant number of them but I'm curious which one to grab.
The Gariz one? (apparently it's not "real" leather but has the metal bottom plate and easy access to the sd/battery compartment)
The Luigi one? (it's expensive like most Luigi stuff but lovely)
Mr Zhou? (I haven't a clue about these ones)
Cheers,
Dave

I have the Zhou version. It works well and feels great. Its made of leather and is nicely finished. However, the hole that provides access to the XPro1's AF/MF switch on the front is not perfectly lined up. It works fine, but its just something I've noticed. Mine is an early version, so Zhou may have corrected this by now.
I modified it by cutting an opening in the bottom for access to the battery/card slots.

Well the Zhou one is a whack more less spendy than the Gariz (and WAY less spendy than the Luigi) case.

I love my funper cases from Jett. Very well made and fatastic material. IMHO, way better than zhou's. They also provide engraving service for the case. In variety of size/fonts and engraving location. http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.1.w11.5.zTw7fS&id=14468877869# hope this will help.

Thank you,
These look nice - just that the only ones I found that is in "English" is via Etsy.com
I'll have to research these more.

for those using cases...does the camera feel 'fat' in your hands when shooting?

I never use cases... But I noticed this on the scoop.it site the other day.. Link is to the xp1 half case, but they have xe1 as well as for other cameras.

Over the years I've picked up several different value cases (read cost effective) and two Luigi cases. While the cheap cases have worked they suffer by comparison with the Luigi cases. In a HUGE way. Moving forward I've decided that the Luigi cases are my preferred option and will buy them from now on. Sure, they cost more, but I like my cameras to be dressed appropriately.

The official Fuji case doesn't add much extra bulk, comes with a strap and a case for the 18mm too.

dc...
well, what did you decide? I use the Ciesta in black with red thread...no complaints at all. Like how it protects the back.
back alley...yes, a little fatter but i don't mind. to me better than leaving unprotected.

I have a Kenji...it's nice but there's no cut-out for the USB port. I think there should be, but that's just me. It's a very nicely made case.

I'm being tempted by the Angelo Pelle case myself.

I choose the fuji grip and skip the half case for xpro1. In the past I used Zhou cases with ZI, RD1, and M8. Great value for real world use compared to more fancy pants and expensive options.

Pricey, but very nice. Like the detachable screen protector flap.

Done a bit of research, because I thought maybe the same people would have come up with an X-E1 case too, sad to say only a couple have as yet.
But with regards to the X-Pro1 you have at least these fellows making half cases:
Luigi
Angelo Pelle (looks suspiciously like Luigi´s)
Zhou
JnK
TP
Gariz
Kenji
Funper
Zelenpol
Horusbennu
Kaza
Ciesta
Rainbow Media
And of course Fuji´s own.

I really wanted a Angelo Pelle or Luigi, but I just decided to go with an X-E1 and needless to say, they don't make them yet for this model.
