hey, they're only Zorkis
On this date, May 6, 1941 - Soviet dictator Josef Stalin assumed the premiership, replacing Vyacheslav M. Molotov.
Just to celebrate, how 'bout a shot of one of your favorite FSUs... Josef, you first!
Post 'em if you got 'em, boys!

The comrades of the People's Post Office have not yet delivered my scanner, so I am rubbing my FED against the screen of the computer in a comradely, fraternal and celebratory manner.

On this day in '45,I arrived, kicking and screaming, in a Blacked-out UK.I have just taken some indoor shots of two of my Granddaughters, using my Fed 2,plus an Industar 61,obviously the only lens I could use today!
Hope that this contribution will do on this anniversary.
Cheers!

Confirmed RF addict...
My knowledge is limited, but I know enough about Stalin to know I won't be joining any celebration... I do like FSU cameras, so here's my Kiev 4.

If I recall correctly, FSU camera manufacture thrived under Stalin. And, I truly enjoy my FED (Still haven't worked out the bottom loading thing with my Zorki 2c).
But, many suffered under Stalin's leadership.
I'll wait until Trotsky's birthday.

Maybe a better day to celebrate would be October 25?

Yes, guys. We all know the Stalin story. "Just to celebrate..." is a j.o.k.e. - joke. ha. ha. See the picture of Stalin? See the little camera superimposed in Stalin's hand? A joke. Absolutely nothing serious intended in any way, shape, form or fashion. Just a funny used to give us FSU.RF junkies an excuse to show off some gear. (As if we need an excuse.)But, many suffered under Stalin's leadership. I'll wait until Trotsky's birthday.
Thanks for all the great shots guys. Keep 'em comin'!
Cheers ~

Just to prove I'm not trying to rain on the parade at Red Square I'll post a picture of my Zorki that I haven't learned to to load yet (there's film jammed in it at the moment)
Afterwards, I'll don my red jammies and sing "The International."

Well comrades, here's my Zorki C, the originator of my Rangefinder and FSU equipment bug! (The microbe must have clung to life inside the leather case)
Also included: Zorki 4K with Homemade shutter speed dial, I-61L/D, Vented hood, and modified leather case.
Maybe this was the real plan to crush capitalism... infect countries with the urge to purchase items in the FSU until we run out of money....

OT: Which picture looks better? The Z-C or the 4K? I'm working on different lighting...

Both are a litle overexposed (I should talk, mine was also overexposed on one side and under on the other)
I prefer the more dramatic lighting of the first shot.

Yeah... cheapie old Floppy Disk VGA camera... I tried tweaking the curves a bit, but the camera does NOT have much dynamic range to pull it off to well.
