I just got back from celebrating St. Georges day by strolling around the ancient city of York (about 40miles away ) with my M2. As usual at this time of year tourist activity is really increasing, and the narrow streets were thronged with visitors from all corners of the planet. I made my usual visit to the yards and alleys around the minster, and just stood for quite some with a big grin on my face!. My source of amusement was the tourists milling around like ants, just about all - with both arms outstretched, peering intently at that silly little screen, while friends and family took turns to pose next to statues, plaques, and ancient oak doors!. There were however, a few obvious experts, with DSLR's, zooms to rival the cannon barrels, and a full set of Cokins to choose from!, and one or two of them gave strange glances at the funny old guy stood in the corner, puffing contentedly on his pipe - but not seeming to join in with his strange little metal camera with two windows in it!. Only made twenty exposures today, but along with lunch and a couple of pints of good Yorkshire ale, a very good St. Georges day indeed!
CHEERS! Dave. :)

Good for you, Dave. I can certainly identify with your amusement. I've even given in to the urge to catch some of these performances on film.

Happy St George's Day from a Welshman.
