Two consecutively numbered M2-R/KS 15's??!!?? Jeez. This is one of the most tempting auctions I've ever stumbled across- especially at the current price. I sincerely hope it goes for a high enough price that I end up feeling ok about not winning it. Anyway, it'll be pretty sweet for someone....maybe one of us? Tom A.? Are you listening? Someone, anyone, save me from a messy situation with my CFO...

(No, of course I have nothing to do with this auction or the sellers, just drooling....)

Yeah. Curious. They added the BIN price well into the auction, too. But I'm really surprised no one jumped at least on the initial bid price of $1200. Man, do I wish I had some extra cash laying around...

One of them needs some unknown/unquantified work to get it to working condition; I wonder if that's putting bidders off?

I think anybody who's knowledgeable enough to bid on a couple KS-15(4)'s would have a pretty good idea of how much it would cost to get both in working condition (my guess would be approx. $1000 U.S. for basic restoration, including replacing Vulcanite, etc.). IMHO, it's just the world economy, declining film camera market, & the fact that these 2 are in "user," not collector, condition w/out the original lenses, cases, etc.

You must be right about the general state of the economy and the declining film gear market. But still, I'd have thought two of these cameras in user condition would be worth at least the $1200 minimum bid- even without the consecutive serial numbers. Who here wouldn't pay $600 for an otherwise decent M2-R, even if it needed a little work?

My guess is that the type of folks who care about consecutive serial #s & the like are the sort of collectors that want complete sets, warranty cards, stuff in true mint condition, etc.
