has anyone tried the Microtek ArtixScan 4000tf?

I will be in the market for a new scanner soon and haven't heard much about this one.

That is a rebadged old polaroid from years ago. I would avoid it.

Well, err...actually Microtek MADE the scanner for Polaroid, so one could say that the Polaroid was a "rebadged" Microtek product. The Polaroid version did not have a firewire port, whereas the Artixscan Tf does. It is a decent scanner, that can perform quite well. I have one. I prefer the 120 version, though, even for 35mm. It is built more robustly. I have best results with Microtek scanners on my G5 Macintosh, using the latest Microtek scanner software, available from their website.
