My beloved early 80's C/M 500 had died (and I thought they were indestructible?). After six months at a local independent repairers, they've given up trying to find the spare part needed to fix it, as Hasselblad no longer supply spares for this.

Before I embarrass myself by contacting Hasselblad about such an ancient camera, does anyone have any ideas about getting 500 c/m spares or getting this fixed?

Thanks for the links, very useful, I will be giving them a call. Although some of the pricing looks like more than the camera is actually worth.

But a Hasselblad is a Hasselblad, after all.

A mid 80's camera is not ancient as far as Hasselblad repairs are concerned.

I'm in the US, so I sent my Hasselblad 500c to Hasselblad USA. The body is from 1962, the back is from 1960, and the lens is a six element version Planar from 1958, and Hasselblad USA had no problem repairing all of it.

Good luck getting the camera repaired.
