Too much equipment? Funny...

I can see it. At first glance I thought the label said “Black Paint Peppercorn Grinder”.
(Did I mention that I have concerns this place might be rubbing off on me.)

No, I haven't, Huss, but I'm fully capable of coming up with other ways to embarrass myself.

The M2 pepper grinder is better.

Etch “E. Leitz, Wetzlar” on it. Put it in the ‘bay as “Minty”.

No. This has not happened to me yet.

Also, as a supermarket pepper grinder collector I never remove the stiff transparent plastic collar that retains the lid so I’m not likely to lose one.

I found that the lens cap of my Swift Audubon MkII binoculars fits our Peugeot pepper grinder perfectly. It now lives there as I don't think the binos need a lens cap since I always have them around my neck or on the shelf. Never in a bag, so nothing should scratch them.

No, but I have looked around the house for anything that might fit a lens in need of a cap. No luck so far.

Yes I have! I have more camera/lens accessories than my wife has kitchen products so maybe my lens cap will end up on the spice rack. And I am sure she won’t want any of it during the divorce.

When you run out of pepper, try putting the grinder on the camera and see how it stacks up. Is that a 43-86 I see on the Nikon in your picture? The pepper grinder might actually beat that? (Heh, I have 2 of them, and love 'em both!)

Yar that is the infamous 43-86. But it actually is the second version (non silver rim, writing on the outside) which is pretty decent. Picked that up with the FM, both in near perfect condition, from a Goodwill find!
I already have an FM2n, but couldn't resist because this is the first time I've seen anything decent at that shop.

Looks just like the caps for the rubber Leica CL 40/90 lenshoods

I have to admit, I am much more concerned by your lens missing its f/11 aperture

You're in good company...many moons ago I read that Messieur Bresson used a marmalade jar cover for his favorite lens.

Just so it doesn’t happen again, may I suggest you put one of theses on it?

It's so weird. All is ok at F8 and I can take pics. Then as I turn the ring toward F16 there is a loud humming, everything around me darkens, slows down and freezes, then it speeds up and becomes light again when the ring reaches F16.
Other people claim that F11 is between F8 and F16 but that is just nonsense.
