i was reading and watching photos from many lenses in last few months, and heliar classic and nokton 40mm looks most interesting to me.
i know i will not gain speed with heliar because i already have jupiter 8, but i cant resist its special look. i love tessar and sonnar lenses and this one looks like it is in the middle.
but i am interested in its performance wide open. i saw many photos both here and on flickr but many of them look like they were shot on other f stops. can someone upload photos on f2. and please put at least 1024 pixel photo.
thanks

I dont have it anymore, but still have a few pics from it - all these are wide open at f2 ( you wanted large - these are as large as I have them):
Its a very nice lens, but I prefer my Hexanon better - thats why I sold Heliar and kept hex.

I think this one is f2. Yet the over-saturated color comes from the E100VS slide film, not the HC50/f2 itself.
This one, on the contrary, is a badly scanned file from an f2 shot. The original color on the E100GX slide film looks twice as much saturated as you're seeing on the monitor....
The HC50/f2 is sharp at wide open, as with most CV lenses. The color rendition, IMHO, is a bit "stiff" and "cold" compared to Leica lenses. Not in a bad way though.
