Hello! I Am Back!

Hello all my RF friends! I am back from a week of intensive Army reservist shooting and my ears are still ringing and my shoulder hurts from the recoil of the M16A1! So good to be able to have access to the internet and to continue with the RF book project. So, did I missed anything? :D

The Leica give-away where we all got Leica goodies, and a few lucky devils some Leica gear.

Good to see you're back!

Peter, alls that are left are a couple of my Minolta MD lenses, sort of a consolation prize I guess.

Peter,
Sorry you missed the Leica giveaway, it was great!
BTW - I've never heard anyone else say bad things about the "recoil" from the M16. Now, the M14, THAT would bruise the Gov'enator's shoulder ;)

Sorry indeed! Why good things happened while I am away! As for the recoil of M16A1. It is very mild compared to the 7.62mm General Purpose Machinegun but shooting for 4 days contributes to my current state of mild discomfort. :p

Peter_n, what about the recoil of that M7 ? :D

No recoil on this baby, Pherdinand. The thing is as smooth as silk! Perfection!! I can hardly believe it... :D

Peter, good to see you back. Hope your ears stop ringing soon!

I think the only camera I have that has a bit of recoil is my Zorki 4K ;)

(just kidding, but you know when the shutter goes off)

Gene

Peter,
Ya' gotta' try the Ma Deuce (Browning M2) to really kick some dust :D
Of course shoulder firing the same rounds through the Barrett light 50 WILL mess with you.
The general build of my Zorki 4K does remind me of the solid build of an AK too, down to the smell of cosmoline grease.

I got the oddball Nikon SP. It's loud, but nice, anyway, and that included f/1.1 lens is pretty good, too. I just can't believe the condition of the camera- almost like it had never been used, but I must say that the shutter guard was a pain to remove- stuck to the shutter like it was. Seemed like it had been there for a long time.

Ah, well. It was a good couple of days.

PPS The box the camera came in looked pretty good, but it was kind of soft, so I tore it up a bit for a friend's mouse. Perfect! I don't look so new NOW!

M16 recoil? From that toy plastic .22?

In my day we used M1 Garands that fired a real cartridge....without ear plugs. And walked seven miles to school each way in hip deep snow with our feet wrapped in newspaper.

I'm sorry, Peter, I just couldn't resist being an old guy. Welcome back.

Let's see your right thumb.

Ah, you still have a finger nail on it. I don't believe you shot the Garand much!

(I'M KIDDING!)

Yeah you sure missed out Peter. I love my new black, Leica M3 - absolute mint condition... :)
