hello everybody...

i don't know if this subforum is okay for this but.. anyway... i'd just like to
say 'hi'. a kinda huge forum do you have here... 🙂

so.. my name is christian, 25 years old, from paderborn/germany. i own a
revue 400 se, but she doesn't work as usual so i think i have to buy a new
one (or other one... we'll see)

beside the revue i have a mamiya m 645j, a minolta x700 and a pentax
*ist d... but never mind.... some of my pictures are online at:
protten.com & my flickr account

i think this will last for the moment... if there are any grammar mistakes,
feel free to bother me until i write correct. 😀

Welcome aboard!

What is wrong with your camera?

The revue is a good fixed-lens RF. The most common problem, shutter stiching, can usually be repaired with a little lighter fluid or Isopropynol Alchohol.

Welcome ! 🙂

Revue 400SE, if I remember correctly, that's a beauty of a camera and with a first class lens too!

Did you use it for your eye contact shot ? Good one !

Oscar

first of all thanks for all the answers! 🙂

to: brian: actually, i don't know exactly. the isosettings-ring is very hard to move,
but on the other hand, it sometimes slips trough if i choose another exposure time.
furthermore i think the aperture priority doesn't work correct. the apertures which
are choosen are way to big. most of the time it sticks at 1.4. even at iso 800 and
good lighting. but i only paid 12€ so.. 😉

to: taffer: no, that one was made with an old porst ct-l super. but thx

to: akptc: yapp, you're right. why do you know? *g*

A Little isopropyl alchohol into the ISO setting ring will probably free it up. If the meter is completely dead, probably a broken connection. This often happens when a battery corrodes. If the meter moves, and battery test (if on the camera) works, it is probably the CDS cell that has lost sensitivity.

- I spent some time in Bielefeld a few years back and recall visiting Paderborn (city hall and some architectural wonders), it's quite a beatiful city. Hope to see some pics from your neighborhood 🙂

thank you for your help, but the iso setting ring makes weird metallic noises while moving and the meter shows f1.7 at 1/125 and iso 800 while holding it into dull sky at 4 am. so... i think i'll buy a new one.

cool... but i don't know. to me paderborn isn't that beautiful at all.. 😉 maybe it's because i am here every day. but i'll see what i can do.. 😀

thank you.. 🙂 actually, i don't know where you've looked for my pictures...
www.protten.com or my flickr account. on protten.com i have only a few
pics, but on flickr there are a bit more. maybe there is something for you
online... but nevertheless i'll try to capture these things.
