I've found this picture of my grandfather with a Leica camera he acquired around 1961, he says it was already used, and troublesome. I'm really interested in finding out the Model, and maybe someday buy a similar one, just for the sake of his memory. If anyone could help me discover which one is this, it would be much appreciated

Do you know what happened to the camera? If it's still in the family somewhere, the serial number will tell you exactly what model and year. Agree it looks like a IIIc or IIIf (I own both), but there are more experienced eyes than mine on this forum.

I think too that it is a post-war IIIc or IIIf. The lens is a 50mm f/2 Summitar.

Looks like a iiic to me. The shutter speed dial on top looks like the narrower iiic dial instead of the short/squat iiif dial with the flash sync dial around it.
Sorry he found it troublesome, those are nice cameras.
