Hi.
I need your help to quickly figure out which camera this lens is for.
It is a Zeiss Jena Sonnar 7,5cm 4 ... in some mount.
Is it for Exakta? Nettax? Tenax II?
What is your opinion?
Thanks.

The lenses for the Tenax II and for the Nettax had such VF eye.
The Nettax had these lenses:
Carl Zeiss Jena 5cm f/3.5 Tessar standard lens;
Carl Zeiss Jena 5cm f/2.8 Tessar standard lens;
Carl Zeiss Jena 10.5cm f/5.6 Triotar tele lens.
The Tenax II had these lenses:
Carl Zeiss Jena 4cm f/2 Sonnar standard lens
Carl Zeiss Jena 4cm f/2.8 Tessar standard lens
Carl Zeiss Jena 2.7cm f/4.5 Orthometar wide-angle lens
Carl Zeiss Jena 7.5cm f/4 Sonnar tele lens
You would think that since the Tenax II has a 7.5cm 4 lens that this is that lens, but the seller said it is not for the Tenax.

Mike Elek is an expert with such lenses, and he is unsure about it all.
He thinks that the lens could have a custom mount.
The "eye" is done in black whereas all photos I found on such lenses with eyes show the eye in chrome.

I agree, that is no Tenax lens - the prism tab on the Tenax lenses resembles that on contemporary Super Ikontas and is tangentially attached, this affair seems to be much bigger and is central. Is it a Zeiss RF prism at all, or is that some kind of viewfinder (magnifying) lens?
As to the Nettax: Never had one, but going by online pictures the mechanism was the same, again with a tangential arm.

I noticed the shape of the arm too.
What could it be?
Maybe it is a custom made lens, as Mike has suggested.
The 7,5cm 1.5 has lots iof information on it, but there is no 7,5cm 4 lens that I can find other than the one for the Tenax II. Could it be a lens made for Tenax II but then adapted for another camera?
Not many RF cameras have such eyes.

I see a distance scale for 1m and up to infinity. Is there a second distance scale for close focus?

Where did Gumby's posting go?
It might be for a Movie Camera. I seem to remember that this lens was available in a movie camera mount.

Hi Brian,
Since you are our RFF Mad Scientist, do you think that this lens could be adapted to be useful somehow?
