It's not any kind of a picture artistically, but I thought you might enjoy seeing how far some people will go for authenticity! Yesterday I went to a Commemorative Air Force open house, to which they had invited all sorts of World War II-era military collectors.

The guy in the picture and two of his friends had come in full Red Army regalia -- they had a Soviet anti-tank gun, and were portraying its three-man crew (aimer, loader, and commander.) They knew exactly what each crew member did, and how he would be dressed and equipped. In the picture, the commander is showing off his "shooter" to a passer-by.

What really made me impressed with their dedication is that it was a hot day, and those are WOOL uniforms!!

Kind of made me wish I had brought along a Kiev, or at least my Leningrad (not the right period, but at least the right origin!) However, I was using the Bessa R3a I won in the RFF essay contest -- incidentally, I am going to write up a "user impression" of this camera and post it soon!

I was using the 40mm f/1.4 lens and Kodak Tri-X (not ideal for bright sunlight, of course, but I also wanted to be equipped for pictures in the hangar, shop area, and museum room.)
