...or does it run down the batteries? I leave my Canon SLRs and Mamiya 7 on, as it doesn't seem to affect the battery at all. Is the Hexar the same way? I know it powers off automatically after 2 hours, and is reanimated by a half-press...

I have left it, for a week or maybe month, and keep going strong.. Just realized when I pull it to use, it still in P position. Few rolls have been done after that and no sign of battery drops.

Awesome! I will try leaving it on. It's so much nicer to be able to pick it up and shoot immediately.

Hexar's shutter button needs a very light pressure to release, so I would be very careful while leaving it on in your bag.
First - in case of constant half-pressure its battery will leak, second - when full pressed you will loose some frames.

I keep forgetting to turn mine off. I think the camera auto shuts off after a while (at least mine does).
