Not shot with FSU gear of any type. I was doing some cleaning in the 'office' at the house and came across these negatives. I thought that I had tossed these long ago. I scanned the negs at work. All of these were shot by my grandmother. So I know that they were at least shot with rangefinders of some type. Anyway, kind of a neat little window back in time. I have some 'travel' type photos as well. They are of a prop liner being loaded with people and then the interior of the cabin. I will get them scanned at some point as well. They are kind of neat as well, as everyone is dressed up to fly. Guys in suits and ladies in skirts and such. Well, onto the photos.

Some famous statue.:D I don't think that you can get this photo anymore as I believe they have put glass in the windows or at least some form of screening.

WorldFair2.jpg

1964 World's Fair in New York. Some may recognize this as it used in the end of the movie 'Men in Black'

This is how the above photo looked before I started to fix it in photoshop. I am still working getting it cleaned up. Most of the negatives have suffered damage like above. They got wet in a flood situation and stuck together. A well intentioned room-mate just pulled them apart damaging the emuslion in most of the negatives.

Nice little street scene. I believe that this was shot somewhere around Cape Cod or other coastal area in Mass.

I believe that this is either my grandfather's boat or my great uncle's boat. I know that it belonged to the family, I am just not sure how. Anyway, again, somewhere along the Mass. coast. Era is some where around the late 1950s or 60s

Nothing spectacular, just some neat stuff to look at. One more, this is some Native American Chief from the New England area. I am not sure who he is. My mother told me once. I just thought it was a neat pic.

As you can see this one too suffered in the flood damage.

Ken, maybe this thread should be moved to Photo Gen. Discussion sub-forum, where they can be appreciated by more members.

Excellent photos and a nice job cleaning them up.

The torch of Lady Liberty is closed. You can't walk up the stairs to it any longer. It's a fire hazard inside. Only one rickety stair case with no way out in case of fire.
But here's a photo from the era when the torch was open.

Ich bin ein Berliner!

Ich bin ein Berliner!

Unfortunately I don't have many details on these photos. My dad recently scanned them from slides that were sent to him in 1963 by a friend in Germany. I do not know the photographer or camera details. The only thing I really know is the obvious, which is that these were taken during Kennedy's June 1963 visit to Germany and the famous "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech.

Great shots of Jack, I would have loved to have been there for that Berliner speech.
it was a different world then, it ended with that man's death it seems.

I remember the World's Fair quite vividly. Belgium waffles were inrotroduced then, and I can still smell them what I think back to that time.

Yeah, I guess you are right. The mods can move this if they see fit. I didn't even think about posting them there. I have my homepage set to this forum and hardly ever get outside of it. Every couple of days I will scan some of the other forums, not often. So Please, go ahead and move this thread. Thanks

I really like the photo of the Statue Of Liberty, reminds me of the Hitchcock film and the sailboat photo is beautiful such nice detail, they don`t make film like that anymore............and also that was nice to see color photos of President Kennedy`s Berlin trip, these are all of great days gone by

I have to dig through some new slides I just bought from 1944 and see if there`s anything in there that`s of historical importance?
