the snow must go on
Hi forum.
Finally, i got THE neg back from the lab. I was very excited and curious since it's basically the first roll where i really tried some street shooting - the previous pics were just occasional found-and-shot frames. It's also between the first rolls (3rd) with my first rangefinder, the yashica gsn.
They are basically just crowd shots made within 2 hours at a flea+world market on liberation day, last saturday the 18th, but there are a few which turned out okay, making me almost-happy almost-satisfied. I still had problems with using the framelines (cut some feet off) - and in lots of cases i wasn't "close enough". I also should have used slower film than NPH400 to be able to focus more selectively...i think...
Anyway, here i uploaded some examples in this subgallery and would love to hear what you think about them
(be honest and cruel pls)
Have a good light today!

I commented on the ones I liked in the Forum. Probably if I was going to give advice (I am the last person that should give it) I would look for someplaces less cluttered, it's hard to make out the subject in some of the pics due to the fact so much is going on in them.
If you will pull your film (rate your NPH400 at ISO 200) it will allow you to use a more selective focus if light allows. If the light allows then shoot a slower film and you can open up even more. My 2 cents.

thanks Todd
actually i've seen you last night "in flagranti"
around 23:00 GMT
That's why i asked other folks' oppinion exactly - to see if one can see the point or not. For me, it's impossible to judge (right now) - i was there, i know/remember why i took a certain picture so i see it immediatelly.
I reckon Winogrand (not that i compare myself to him!!) kept most of his rolls for a looong time without looking at them to make sure he'll "forget the context" so he can judge and edit them objectively. Good trick - won't ever work for such an impatient guy like myself
