I'm staying one night in Macau on my way to Thailand and then one night in Hong Kong on my way back. I've been to both places before, but I'd like a recommendation for a cheap place to stay in each in a decent location. Anything under $70 is fine. Thanks in advance! Also if anyone wants to meet up in either place and I'd be up for it!

Chunking Mansion in TST /Kowloon is cheap and entertaining. Spend 6 weeks there without any problems. PM me if you need a hostel recommendation.

So the hotel I stayed at in Macau was great. All locals and some Chinese tourists. No westerners. It was packed in a very obscure area and I saw few if any other travelers the whole day.
Hong Kong was a different matter. I showed up without reservations, refused to pay US$300+ for a lousy, mediocre room so I ended up in the squalor at Chungking Mansion in Kowloon. I at least stayed in Tom's Guesthouse which was friendly and clean. It's also in block C instead of the incredibly rowdy and busy block A, but I've never seen so many African prostitutes in Asia. Wild times...
