I have two Nikkor LTM lenses I'd like to find a hood or a hood solution for. Both are LTM versions of 28/3.5 and 35/3.5. Filter size is 34.5mm--any source for filters btw? I'm wondering if the Leica FOOKH hood would work on these lenses? Vignette on 28? If not, any other solution(s)? What about A36 filters?
Thanx--Bill

The A 36 filters work on the LTM 35f3.5 (just checked it on mine). Dont know about the 28f3.5 - only have those in Nikon mount. You could probably jury rig a hood by using a A 36 filter as a holder. Get a crappy A36 - knock out the glass and find some tubing of the correct diameter and either push-fit or solder it on to the A36 ring. You wont need much of "depth" as the lens on the 35f3.5 is fairly deeply set anyway.

Thanx Tom for checking. Good news about the A36 filters. I know just where to find some beaters too. So, if the A36 fits then the FOOKH should fit too. I need to source one of those maybe.

The FOOKH would fit, but check it first. The front element of the 35f3.5 is more recessed than the Elmar 35 and you might get some vignetting due to the hood sticking out further.

The 28/3.5 doesn't flare very badly unless the sun is in the frame. Handles ordinary backlight quite well.
