Searching for Bill Haley vids last night brought a gem of a film clip.
Fran Beecher's guitar solo and those 1950s babes make this so coool.

I knew Bill Haley's son for awhile. Could have been his twin. He rarely spoke about his father. Anyway, them babes are hot!

Damn that guy has chops...
Damn that guy has chops...
...and it takes a lot of woodshedding to play quickly and with good articulation with a clean tone like his.
I don't play much any more, but I've grown quite a taste for 50s rockabilly axemen.

Ya know, I stopped in here at the "off topic" forum to vent a little, checked the threads and found this.
I guess all I can say is: Go, Granny, Go!
But the video and music made me happy; rockabilly is one of my joys and I'd not seen this before.
Thanks for the link!

Having been a teenager in the '50s, this brings back good memories. The sax player (can't remember is name, something like Louie Sansui) was great too. My first instrument was the sax so I could apprecieate it.

the sax player was Rudy Pompillii who died in 1976 from lung cancer from 2nd hand smoke.
Rudy was only 51 year old and was a great sax player, in fact the whole band was made up of top notch players.
Lead guitarist Fran Beecher still preforms and he is in his 80s.

Ya gotta love how loose the whole thing is. Wonder if they got it in one take?
And talk about technically advanced! The band had WiFi way back then!
