How big is a darkroom?

Here's a pic of the gear I took to my town's youth center so that some interested kids could see what it's like to make a wet print. The washroom was used as the darkroom. The week previous, they saw the film being developed that they had taken with my Nikkormat FT2 and a handheld light meter.

If you've got a closet with enough space to hold the trays you've got enough space. They have tray stackers too, which would be even smaller. I'd need 11x14 trays to be happy though.

I counted my exposure seconds for years.
 
A confession.

The first time I developed HIE, I, as instructed, handled and developed it in total darkness. I didn't know if the developing tank was enough so I sat there pouring and stirring in the dark, counting 660 clicks of my (fortunately loud) 1980s Swatch until it was done.

The film came out very well.
