How celebs ruin camera pricing for us

Well....not like I wanted one of those anyway....

Maybe stocking second hand camera dealers getting their toes dipped in product placement?

it's good I bought mine T2 years ago, before all the hype... But it felt like very expensive even back in time - I paid 200$...

So I can blame her for giving up on the T2 and recently opting for the Konica Big Mini? I already feel better.

(I keed, I keed.)

Well she "just got it". Must had paid a grand for a grey one...which means she's also a victim of the celebrity hype.

For what I've learnt the T2 price hike should be attributed to Kiko Mizuhara, a Japanese model and fashion icon.

How many potatoes should a used, clean T2 optimally cost if a total governent control communist revolution happened? Asking for a friend..

In the communist society everything is supposed to be free (I was taught so in the communist school). You give your best when it comes to work you do and you can choose "according to your needs" (it assumes your needs are reasonable, not "decadent" - that's how the communist society works).

P.S. I am afraid T2 would surely qualify for decadent and unreasonable choice. You will be given free FED instead.

Aziz Ansari is using what I think is a T3 in the new season of Master of None. Very sweet and funny show, by the way. Also: I flew on the same plane as him once and he came back into coach and chatted with fans. I liked him.

I saw that too! My wife thought I was crazy for replaying the scene just to confirm the camera model. Excellent show!

Oh wow! Can you recall what the retail was then?

I think it was $700. The Leica Minilux was around the same. The Nikons (28 and 35ti) were around $1000 if I remember correctly. The Konica Hexar AF was $500 or so at release date which seemed like a great price. The 1/250th highest shutter speed turned people off though. I wasn't aware of the Ricoh GR series in the 90s (I learned about them later).
