I have several GTs and GTNs.
The black enamel/paint has lost its sheen and looks very dull.
Have any of you polished up your black Electros and if so how and with what?
Cleaning the chrome bodies is rather simple.
I thought I would ask about the black ones before I attacked them with the car polish or cutting compound etc.
In the past any polish work I have done has always faded in a very short time.
Regards
Peter

I have successfully used Rennaisance wax made in the UK for that purpose on my black and chrome cameras/ lenses as well as Aluminum lenses. See: http://www.restorationproduct.com/renwaxinfo.html

The best camera is one that still works!
Believe it or not Peter I use T-tree oil ... leaves a camera smelling pretty sharp too!
I picked up a GT out of the classifieds which was looking a little dull and was amazed how well it improved the appearance of the black camera body and also the leatherette or whatever you want to call it!

Actually, I think it is supposed to. It's not high-gloss paint. I clean mine occasionally, but I don't polish the paint. If, for some bizarre reason, I wanted to have the thing shiny, I might take the caps off and give them a coat of automotive grade clearcoat.

no, I really mean dull!
no, I really mean dull!
Guys, I am talking about the black finish really going flat and dull.
I am aware that when new they had a nice semi-gloss sheen and it is this that I am trying to return my two to.
