lens? in looking at older Leica lenses, many have fog/haze resulting from age/storage. What's the going price for a proper lens cleaning? I want to factor in the cost when deciding what to pay for an older lens.

Two problems
- Leitz did not meake them easy to take down and put back together
- Until 60s Leitz used soft coating that you can more easily rub off.
The cost depends where you take it to, but most should come up like new, some dont...
The Russian LTM lenses are ok for shooting with but you might not get a good one first try. Some of the older Leitz lenses have real character, i.e. are soft and flare badly.

The older 50mm summicrons are especially soft-coated, the internal coatings have the strength of a soap bubble when it's just about to pop.

DAG Camera repair has cleaned many lens for me with great sucess. Price is always different on each lens even if I send them together. Normally it is between 50 and 75 each.
Leica in New Jersey will also clean bayonet lenses and Sherry a Golden Touch does good work. Also John Van Stelton and Focalpointlens.com
These are the four best in the USA
