Disclaimer: I can only tell what I did with my grip and If you want to take your own grip apart,
you will have to do this at your own risk!
To take the grip apart, I started to loosen the top (which is glued in place) with a little help
from a small screwdriver placed directly above the plastic retaining strip which is aligned
with a sloth in the side of the top. Loose from the glue, the top popped right off.
Next the handle were removed by undoing the 3 bolts in the bottom of the cylinder
(and the bottom plate are now ready for construction of a home built handle)
If one would only want to change the skin, one would not have to undo the handle from
the bottom plate. But in order to remove the plastic retaining strip one would not only
have to remove the top, but also a blob of glue inside the cylinder which locks up one
of the plastic retaining strip taps (I obviously failed to do so)!
NB: Order a patch for the grip in the original size (not the usual one which is a little smaller
in order to be mounted on an assembled grip).
One would also have to glue top back into place. I reassembled the grip without glue
and went out for a single session and only luck prevented me from loosing the top!
