Hi,
just bought this lens at a camera show, and I'd like to know how much it's worth. It's also together with the finder.
It's serial number 2259XX.
here is some info about the lens...

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ondrej,
I have the excellent Cosina 20/3.8 in Nikon [SLR] mount. It was $60- in Mint condition, from a Japanese eB@y seller. The Nikkor version is likely to be more expensive.
Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike,
I guess this lens is in a completely different price range. They seem to sell for around $500 at ebay...
Perhaps I'll post it in the classifieds soon... I don't have a Nikon F nor F2 and don't plan to buy one anytime soon.

Yeah, Your original Nikkor-O is probably worth more. Suggest you check with KEH, bhphoto-video, also with GeneW in our Forum.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Nice find especially so as it still has the finder with it. It is an expensive collector type lens if in the proper condition.

Now that's an expensive little lens. It is meant for collectors. Users have better options to choose from.

Hi Spyder,
Is it the F mount? Most probably it is. Or you hit the Lottery
I am quoting, of all people, an ebay seller:

And here is a link to a similar topic on NHS forum:

I see examples sell around $500 sell on ebay all the time, seen them as low as $300 and as high as $700...
Nice, unique design:

Sold for $747.00
How much did you pay for yours?

Just to be fair to the guy, here is the listing:ebay seller paulpaxman said:There was no better way to catch fast moving crowd/people in-your-face action shots than to set a fixed focus with 400 asa film and use the shutter speed to control exposure. Everything from three inches to infinity was in focus, and the slowing up of the shutter speed as the light drained from the day and the mood of the crowds intensified only added to the dramatic effect. It does things with color and internally refracted light that no other lens can duplicate. It was first supplanted by a multicoated 20mm f4 which allowed me to saturate the Ectachrome we were using at the time by judicious use of a polarizing filter, and also to change lenses faster (almost had to dedicate a separate body to the 2.1), then later on by the new 20mm auto-focus and finally the 14mm for my D2. Things change… and not necessarily for the better

Mine is F mount, has the finder in the middle in this picture:
and is in very good condition. No fungus, no scratches that I can see. I also have the original Nippon Kogaku leather case for it, and the rear cap (unfortuantely with broken bayonet "wings", but that can be repaired).
Funny that I saw this lens about a year ago at a camera show, being offered by the same guy. It seems he's been trying to sell if for the last year... Also bought a broken "Wray London" VIOOH-like universal finder for $5. It has one of the prisms unglued and some screws missing, but I hope a local repairman can take care of that.

I bought such a lens a few days ago here for the F SLR system. It was not the RF version.
