OK, this is purely for fun and to waste time. It is really not meant to start flame wars, rants, arguments, or any of that. Obviously a camera phone is not a serious tool. tha being said, just about everybody has one, so let's hear it!

There are other types of cameras???

What an amazing concept. A camera that is not a phone as it's first function?

Keeps telling me how easy it is to upload cell phone photos to flickr. :)

Well, compared to souping your own rolls and then chasing the dust off the scans and then spending forever tweaking curves, he may have a point.:p But that's not really the point, is it?

The camera on my phone sucks royally. I've taken a few photos with it when I didn't have anything better to do but the quality doesn't even warrant taking the trouble to transfer them to my computer.

I use mine almost everyday. I have a mobile blog where I would send pictures and text from my phone. The lack of quality forces me to make up for it with content and caption. My phone also has a flash. I can't take a camera with me all the time so this is better than nothing. Here are a few examples from my phone:

Walking out of costco after buying more than I need.

Trying to capture detail from a camera phone. No avail.

Wow, you still have a car phone? Those are hard to find as well.

It's all integrated with the satnav. Both are voice-controlled. You can navigate to addresses in your contact list, or 'phone numbers in the satnav database - points of interest, etc. or from the web browser. You can add new ones by typing them in directly, or by bluetooth synch from your other 'phone. You just put a SIM card in a holder in the boot - er, "trunk" - and off you go ;)

Regards,

Bill

No, everybody does not have a camera phone. In fact, I don’t even have a cell phone; therefore, I could not vote.

My mobile phone is a seven year old pre-pay coming up for its third battery - it doesn't have a camera . . or even a colour display.....

I have taken maybe two or three on purpose...any others were strictly and totally done by accident...
And don't you just love it when some joker with a cell phone steps in front of you to get his shot...

Bah humbug to the high and mighty who haven't used a cell phone camera and think it is beneath them...

Ok, so its not a D3 pixel popping pic. But it wouldnt have been taken if the camera wasn't there........

No pay phones left nowadays though.

There's one right in front of my house at the corner of Noorderkroonstraat and Hyadenpad. ;)
Some folks smash its window-walls after every single football game.
Now that the european stuff is going on, KPN (or whatever it is called lately...the royal dutch phone company) didnt bother to replace the broken glass.

I've chuckled at your sig before....

My signature states where I stand on this issue...Bill

And obviously some don't think as you do. I just bought a tripod recently (small one) that had an attachment for a cell phone.

I take cell phone pics occasionally, and the best use I've had out of them is to use them for demo in the digital photography class I teach.

I also use them often in PowerPoint presentations.
