Hi everyone,

One simple question,
with the Bessa R2,
if I do exposures of 2 seconds and more?
how do I meter correctly?

You know, fotos of car lights trail, night-time Manhattan skyline sort of view . . .

Was trying to do some Hong Kong night scenery wth ISO100 film.
How do I calculate the metering (ie, time & aperture values)?
Is it a must that I should get a handheld exposure meter to do the job?

Any simple work around to use some printed off chart?
Or bumping up the ISO to meter, then turn it back down?
Or should I just get the R3A?😀

Meter correctly? You've got the idea, crank the ISO, aperture, etc. 'till you can get a reading, then extrapolate. Often even the most sensitive meter is not enough.
Bear in mind reciprocity failure and the fact that a 10 minute exposure is only one stop more than a 5 minute one anyway... So really, a one hour exposure is only maybe one more stop than a 10 minute one.
Basically, guess a little, bracket a little, and see what works and what doesn't. It's fun!

There is one more thing to remember: Schwarzschild effect.
Read your film fact sheet - there should be info (graph) how to deal with long exsposures.

cheers
