How to expose 32 year old Tri-X?

The rule I've heard is increase speed by one stop for each decade past expiration date. Given the variables involved in how a particular batch of film might have been stored over thirty plus years, I'm not sure how much weight I would give that rule though.



If you have a few rolls, I'd burn the first roll doing test shots at 50, 100, 200, and 400 in different lighting conditions. Take notes and see how they turn out; then you can make an informed decision as to how to shoot the remaining rolls.
