Hi!
My FED 5 works ok and the selenium meter is also alive (no wonder, produced 1990 and kept all the time in the leather case). But the meter is inaccurate, it is one stop under (or over, I don't remember). Ofcourse, I could live with that, but I am always in doubt it was one stop under or over. So better would be fixing it.
How do I get access to the lightmeter and has it some knob or screw or something where I can reposition the needle?
Asked on the Kievaholic forum but no useful answer came from there.
Anyone of you did such an adjustment?
Eugen

Hi Eugen,
Nice to see you on RFF. I think so far I only met you on drf.
The FED-5 light meter comes off with the top cover. There is a picture how it looks on Rick Oleson's FED-5 page. I haven't tried to adjust mine and I don't see how this would work from below unless there is a trim potentiometer somewhere.
If you read Russian a little bit, one of the best places to ask this kind of question is probably Klub Dalnomer, the Russian equivalent of RFF.

I've never taken the top off a FED 5 but it's likely to be similar to the 4. If so, there will be an adjustment to allow the meter body to rotate slightly in its mounting, altering the reading. However, could you not simply adjust your film-speed setting by one stop, to compensate? Could save you some work!
