Just extending a howdy all around.
I've joined the RF crew with the purchase of a new looking model P - smooth!!, after working 20+ years with SLRs I needed a break from the routine. Retired and shooting for fun now, not 'the man.'
So far so good except, seeing how dim the 100mm frame lines are puts me in the market for a clean brite line finder and some sort of prescription eyepiece correction - I read here-abouts that Nikon FG oculars would fit if trimmed a bit.
Again, just wanted to say howdy and thank everyone for their tips and cordiality -- already improved focus with a Flair-marker-dot center of the viewfinder -- and a huge thank you to Raid for your efforts and for me, happy hours of studying your 50mm lens comparisons -- love the tonality of the Summicron, but then there's the oof of the f1.5 sonnar type, and then...

Welcome aboard. I guess RFF will be in the "Bubba" Category for the "Bubba/no Bubba" Atlanta Radio Show Contest.

A CLA might help the contrast on the finder. It helped out my VI-T framelines and contrast. My Canon P was bought with a recent CLA, and it shows. Finder is great.

Bubba, one thing you don't want is a Cloudy P.

Cloudy P, Texas = skies are not cloudy... too many straight lines just whacked my joke machine out of alignment, so I'll jes' say "Howdy," and welcome. The P is one of my favorites, proved with my recent purchase of a second one -- it's out for a CLA and I can't wait to get it back. You will certainly enjoy shooting with this camera. I have very rarely returned to my SLRs (film) since playing with this and my other rangefinders.

I shined a flashlight through the P's viewfinder and could see a hazy element inside, so it (the P), along with a 35/3.5 Summaron full of dust, and a slightly hazy 100/2 has been shipped off to our friend for help.

I'm holding off on a 100mm briteline untill it gets back, fingers crossed.
