Today, I went into Brookline to the Beacon Tavern to make the arrangements for our Boston meet-up and found that they no longer do brunch/lunch on Sundays and, in fact, don't even open until 5 pm. I scouted other possibilities in the area, but no luck.
(FWIW, the poll on having the meeting clearly favored the 15th over the 29th.)
So, unless someone has a better idea, I recommend that we postpone the meet-up to a later date.

Harry,
How about the Abbey in Washington Square... I know they don't close their kitchen between lunch and dinner, and maybe if we spoke with them ahead of time they could put a few tables together for us, though I don't think they take reservations. It doesn't tend to be too crowded there around 2, so I can't imagine they'd mind us hanging out. And they have a delicious Cuban sandwich!

I'll look into it, Ben. But I'm surprised I missed them when I scouted the area after the Beacon Tavern failure. Hmmm, Cuban sandwich sounds good.

Edit: Oops, after looking at their web site, I realized that I did go there. I was told that we couldn't reserve a table and would have to take whatever was available when we arrived. But I have the name of the owner (Angus) now, and maybe I can convince him to set aside a few tables at the rear of the dining area. I'll go in on Sunday.
Then we'll have to go through the process of picking a date.
For anyone seeing this post: please suggest some dates for a possible meeting. Some Sunday in Feb.?
