Looks like a nice clean example. Anything under $1000 would be a good price, although I expect that it will sell for $1200 or so. I may have to watch just for entertainment value.

David, as much as I appreciate 'heads-up' on potential deals, this one has a couple yellow flags.
First, it's being offered "As-Is" by a re-seller that knows nothing about it.
Second, they clearly state, "Not checked for function".
Personally, I prefer to give my $$ to knowledgeable sellers.
That said, it'll be interesting to see what the final price will be. Most auction prices have a way of soaring in the final minutes.

It went for US$770. Unless someone at RFF bought it, we'll never know if it was a 'deal' or not.

Indeed.. you're also quite right about the alarm/caution flags.scottgee1 said:It went for US$770. Unless someone at RFF bought it, we'll never know if it was a 'deal' or not.

The best camera is one that still works!
I reckon that's ok for a IIIg with lens ... it could have gone for a fair bit more in my opinion. Youxin CLA's one of those fairly cheaply so I hope an RFFer did get it!

It's not a bargain. However, a cased IIIg with a Cron for $770 is a fair price. As there is no right of return with this seller, it would have been a deal breaker for me. I hope who ever bid on the camera factored in a possible CLA.

I am surprised that this camera did not sell for more money. The dent on one of the corners was likely a factor. Also, I concur in the view of others that the untested/no return issues also turned some folks off. Still, not a bad deal after factoring in $200 or so for an overhaul.
